Every Jewish girl over the age of 12 is a Bat-Mitsvah which means that she has  stepped into adulthood and reached the maturity to fulfill her responsibilities as an individual.

Bat-Mitsvah ceremonies started to be celebrated since the 19th century. During the Bat-Mitsva ceremony, the girls enter the synagogue in white clothes, in their father's arms, and read prayers and sing songs together.
